This past winter sash&bow was honored to take part in a FABULOUS do-it-yourself winter wedding!  Mackenzie and Weston had a beautiful Pamperin Park Wedding with so many DIY details.

Captured by Laurie Marie Photography, on a PERFECT winter day, Mackenzie and Weston said “I do” in front of beautiful stone fireplace at Pamperin Park.  The stone fireplace lit the room beautifully with the help of fabulous mercury mason jars.  The staff of sash&bow helped make Mackenzie’s, fabulous, do-it-yourself, details fill the room (like the AWESOME sign whe guests entered!).  With a magic, winter chill in the air, guests were treated to a coffee and hot chocolate bar from Jo to Go before they ventured back out into the cold.

Hinterland was the perfect spot for Mackenzie and Weston’s DIY reception.  Perfect birch centerpieces accented with pinecones adorned the tables.   While there was a chill in the air outside, guests stayed warm inside as they spent the rest of the night visiting and dancing.

We LOVE all the little details they incorporated into their day.  Hand painted signs, hand stamped coffee sleeves, chalkboard messages, handmade scarves and mittens and so much more.  The day may have been rainy and cold but the wedding was full of love and warmth.  Cheers!

We often hear that couples have a difficult time selecting a song for the mother/son dance and are often asked for suggestions.  So many love songs are (fittingly) about lovers, and NOT about parent/child relationships.  And for whatever reason, there seem to be more songs that are suited to the father/daughter dance than the mother/son, at least in terms of popularity but the mother/son dance is just as important as the father/daughter dance!  No, we don’t hear quite as often “mama’s little boy” as we do “daddy’s little girl” but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve songs too!
